Sail and Sprocket

Original & Traditional  -  Acoustic Homespun

Sail and Sprocket is an acoustic duo whose show is based upon the original copyright music of Captain Tim Paegelow.  Other original songs from Dan Schultz and traditional musings bring on smiles, memories and dancing feet.  Powerful vocals, dynamic guitar solos embellish those songs of yesterday with the innovative ones of today, all with a Celtic flare.

Captain Tim Paegelow of rural Wautoma, a Minstrel, is a man with over 50 years of performing experience.  Founder of the Blackhawk Folk Society,

Capt. Tim plays guitar, mandolin and various other instruments.  He is the Sail portion of this acoustic duo, as he is a USCG Captain

upon the Great Lakes.  Having performed at the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival in Marquette, MI,

the Wild Hog in the Woods Coffee House in Madison, WI to mention a few; he brings

as a prolific songwriter, a creative style & verve to the stage with genuine passion.

Dan "Swell" Schultz is a masterful guitar player who at one time worked in Nashville as a studio musician and recording technician.

He has played in many bands over the years and resides in Wisconsin Dells.  He brings to Sail ~n~ Sprocket a magic and grace

which embellishes the music with his abilities.  He understands what Capt. Tim has written and finds the songs to be of great

importance and is therefore a true partner in this musical adventure.  He brings the Sprocket portion to this duo since he is an avid

mountain biker and emerging eclectic songwriter.  He knows Capt. Tim is into his 'Sting Thing' # (reaching back into music written in

his early years) and finds the meanings as valid today as when originally written.

We have added to Sail ~n~ Sprocket a fine Mandolin player!

He is Brother Jonathan Stoffregen of Stevens Point, WI

(Please be aware that we are in the studio recording a CD for all.  Should be out later this fall or into the winter sometime.)

#  The "Sting Thing" comes from Capt. Tim seeing an interview with Sting on PBS in the winter of 2010-2011, where the interviewer said to Sting, 'Lately in concerts by you, I have been hearing music not heard before, was it new?'  Sting replied, 'The music is from my early years, before the Police, and if I don't play this music it will be lost. No one would ever hear it or want to play it!'

So Capt. Tim is into his "Sting Thing".
